Country Artist Sam Schmidthuber Wins Modern Country Singer of the Year Award

Country artist Sam Schmidthuber, a native of Morgantown and a resident of Lancaster County, won the Modern Country Singer of the Year award at the 2021 Josie Music Awards, held at the Country Tonight Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the weekend of September 17.
âIt feels good to be recognized by such a respected awards ceremony,â said Sam, a local high school graduate in 2019. âI sing what I live.
The Josie Music Awards 2021 received over 38,000 entries and only 2.6% of those entries received a nomination.
The Josie Music Awards are an all-genre awards ceremony for independent artists only, with a pre-party and lavish red carpet event featuring live interviews and photographers recording the event. Since its inauguration in 2015, the Josie Music Awards were and remain the largest awards ceremony dedicated to independent artists from around the world.
The 2021 event featured a vocal competition and songwriting session where artists, including Sam, co-wrote a song together for later release.
Sam’s journey as a country artist began in his youth.
âI started singing when I was young and learned to play the guitar on my own. I played wherever I could, âSam said.â I won a talent show for my voice at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in 2016, which I thank for giving me the extra push to get my voice back on track. career. I started writing my own songs and playing in Nashville and here we are.
He credits the hard work and love of what he does for helping him achieve his goals in the music industry.
Sam continues to perform locally, most notably at the Hay Creek Festival on September 11.
