Live At The Linda with Justin Friello and The Accidentals

First, tonight we celebrate the power of the word, in our tribute to poets, comics and great speakers, “In Other Words.”

The speaker tonight is a poet Thomas Francois. Thom Francis has done a good job of promoting other poets by organizing, promoting and hosting open mic and poetry / spoken word events here in Albany such as Brass Tacks, Nitty-Gritty slam, Albany Poets Presents and Albany Word Fest for almost 20 years. Thom has written three chapbooks and has been published in chronogram and upstream. Thom joined us a few weeks ago opening act for girl blue in other words – this is Thom Francis.

Artist of the Capital Region Justin friello is a multi-genre composer and performer who wears many hats, both literally and figuratively. Classically trained, songwriter, pop singer, multi-instrument musician, equity actor, author Justin has been a craftsman and storyteller for 16 years, performing throughout New York State and beyond as as a solo artist and with his groups, Stockade Children and the Ohio filming. In 2016, Justin released “Jack & Jill,” a combined EP and short, and more recently released a book of his collected lyrics titled “Lyrics”. I am proud to have this book on my shelf and even more proud to introduce Justin to you if this is the first time you have heard the remarkable voice of Mr. Friello. About the multi-instrumentalist power trio with female voice, Accidental, Billboard says, “The Accidentals display a range of genre influences and clever songwriting skills to accompany their abundant musical chops.” Hailing from Traverse City, Michigan, the band offers an eclectic mix of indie-folk, pop, bluegrass, rock, classical and other genres. Their new album “Vessel” is out now, and the release tour – headlining with season 8 winner of The Voice and local favorite Sawyer Fredericks will be at Linda on October 22.
