Nelly is set to perform at Sand Mountain Amphitheater’s tacos and tequila

Grammy-winning rap artist Nelly will headline the Sand Mountain Amphitheater’s “Tacos and Tequila” concert.

The Albertville site will host the event on May 20; tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

“The event has more crowd-pleasers than the best in Hip Hop music, ensuring an experience fans won’t soon forget,” according to a press release from the amphitheater.

Tacos and Tequila will also feature other artists such as Chingy, Baby Bash and DJ Skribble. The amphitheater’s press release describes it as a “truly electric night of music” to kick off the summer concert season.

Nelly, known for several songs such as “Hot in Herre” and “#1”, began her solo career with the release of “Country Grammar” in 2000. The album spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 , selling over 9 million copies and earning it four Grammy nominations.

He won two Grammys in 2003 (Best Rap/Singing Performance for “Dilemma” with Kelly Rowland and Best Male Rap Solo Performance for “Hot in Herre”) and another in 2004 (Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “Shake Ya Tailfeather” featuring P. Diddy and Murphy Lee).

Nelly also has multiple American Music Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, MTV Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, Soul Train Awards, and Teen Choice Awards on her resume.

He became one of seven rappers in history to receive Diamond status song for his collaboration with country music group Florida Georgia Line in 2013. The group collaborated with him again in 2021 with their song “Lil Bit”.

Chingy released his debut single, “Right Thurr,” in 2003, which put him “on the music map as a good-time rapper specializing in catchy, club-friendly beats and simplistic lyrics,” according to the Press release.

His debut album, “Jackpot”, sold 2 million copies thanks to the success of its first single. In 2018, Chingy made his debut as a record producer with his single “Sparks Fly”.

Baby Bash also had several hits on the Billboard charts. Most notably, his single “Suga Suga” reached No. 7 on the Top 100. Since then, he has collaborated with artists such as B-Legit, C-Bo and Mac Dre on the West Coast and Latino rap scene.

Today, he continues to write songs for performers such as Paula DeAnda, Jennifer Hudson and Frankie J.
