Preeminent progressive rock band from the United States, KANSAS, will close their popular Point of Know Return anniversary tour in the United States with a final stop during the winter and spring of 2022.

Originally launched to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the hit album Point of Know Return, the band will perform the album in its entirety. The tour features classical music from KANSAS, including hit songs, deep cuts, fan favorites, and will include selections from the band’s latest studio album, The Absence of Presence.

The KANSAS: Point of Know Return Anniversary Tour premiered on September 28, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. The previous stages of Point of Know Return’s anniversary tour were commemorated with the release of the live album Point of Know Return Live & Beyond. In 1977, KANSAS continued the success of Leftoverture by releasing the album Point of Know Return. Containing the hit hit and million-selling single “Dust in the Wind”, as well as fan favorites such as “Portrait (He Knew)”, “Closet Chronicles” and “Paradox”, Point of Know Return has become the best-selling studio of the group. album. The album peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s album charts, reached six-fold-platinum status with over six million copies sold, and had three Billboard Hot 100 singles.

“We were in the final stages of the last Point of Know Return tour in the United States and Europe when COVID stopped touring the world,” commented drummer and original KANSAS member Phil Ehart. With so many return dates to the point of being rescheduled from 2020 to 2021 and 2022, it made sense to expand the tour to more cities in the United States during that time frame. Throughout the tour, live shows not only culminate with the Point of Know Return album performed in its entirety, but KANSAS also performs classic hits, deep cuts and fan favorites. In some cases, the band even gives a new twist to a KANSAS classic. The tour will also include a selection of songs from the band’s critically acclaimed 2020 studio album, The Absence of Presence. KANSAS is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist / vocalist Billy Greer, vocalist / keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist / guitarist David Ragsdale, keyboardist / vocalist Tom Brislin and original guitarist Richard Williams.
