Bethany Beach hosts its fifth annual winter celebration with ice sculptures, chili cooking, a tasting tour and more.

BEthany Beach is generally famous for its waves and sand. But in late January, visitors lace up their skates, put on their mittens, and head downtown for the fire and ice festival.

Never been to the festival before? Here’s what you need to know.

The fifth annual Fire & Ice festival will take place from January 28-30 with the theme “Rock ‘n’ Roll”. Organized by the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce, the festival welcomes guests from across Delaware and neighboring states to gather and marvel at incredible ice sculptures provided by ice cream vendor Ice Lab, live carving demonstrations, delicious chili food and a tasting of 10 signature cocktails.

Based in Maryland, Ice Lab Ice Sculptures brings exquisite ice sculptures primarily to Baltimore, Washington DC and Maryland, but will serve throughout the United States. Each of her ice sculptures are sculpted with careful precision and grace to bring beautiful works of art to life. This year, the Bethany Beach Fire & Ice Festival will feature Ice Lab’s incredible sculptures throughout the festival area.

Additionally, guests can experience Tour de Fuego, a food and wine trail at Lord’s Landscaping. It’s a must for anyone who wants to savor chef-inspired meals with hand-selected wine pairings while experiencing the incredible ice sculptures, fire dancer and music from local rock band Hit ‘n’ ‘Run. Tickets for the Tour de Fuego are $180 per module and guests must be 21 years of age or older.

If you’re looking to make a weekend of it, consider booking a room at Bethany Beach Ocean Suites or the Holiday Inn Express.
