The Perry Players present Elf the Musical

The musical closely follows the plot and comedy of the popular film Will Ferrell, but it has the added benefit of a holiday musical score.

PERRY, Georgia – The best way to spread the Christmas cheer is to sing along so everyone can hear it, and the Perry Players will bring the holiday spirit to Perry with their production of Elf the Musical.

The musical closely follows the plot and comedy of the popular film Will Ferrell, but it has the added benefit of a holiday musical score.

“I think it’s just a timeless story that everyone knows. Everyone knows the film. He has something for everyone. There is comedy, there are very sincere moments. It’s just something that I think any member can enjoy during the holiday season, ”said Perry Players artistic director Michael Stewart.

The Perry Players have been working on this show since late October and are excited to show it to the Perry community.

They are a non-profit organization and a community theater. They have been performing in the Perry community for almost 40 years. When they started they didn’t even have a theater to perform. Instead, the group traveled to other theaters in the area to perform.

Today they are located in the heart of downtown Perry in the Perry Players Community Theater. Stewart says the group is special because of the people who have helped it grow.

“We all love this place so much and the last thing we want to see is it just go away. I think we all come here every day and do our part to make it grow and make it what it is. And so, I think that’s what’s most special about it, it’s the people who do the work, ”said Stewart.

Elf the Musical will air Thursday through Sunday from December 9 to 19. Tickets cost $ 22.50 for adults and $ 20 for seniors, students, children ages 3-18, and military personnel.

The Perry Players will also have a special event to accompany the show.

During their Sunday morning they will organize a holiday reunion for children aged 3-10 to arrive early before the show to spend an afternoon with Santa Claus, Mrs Claus, Buddy the Elf and other characters from the musical.

Tickets for this event will be $ 50 and will include a character encounter, hot chocolate and snacks, a guided craft activity, a digital commemorative photo with Santa Claus, storytelling and song time, and the admission to the performance in the morning.

All mainstream tickets go on sale on Thanksgiving Day. You can buy tickets on the Perry Players website.
